Are your parents sad to see your ECFE programming ending?
What a fantastic “problem!” But, it also can present a puzzle on how to continue your support to families, especially when staffing & budgets may already be a challenge.
Here are some ideas to extend your programming through the summer months:
Offer simple one time events for families such as:
Big Trucks/Emergency Vehicles
Sneakers and Strollers Meet Up
Water Fun
Spring Planting
Outdoor Literacy
Playground Connections
Summer Circle Time
Story Time at the Library
Co-sponsor an event with another community group
Create or work with parents to create a list of summer events and ideas that families can use to connect or explore together. (check local facebook groups for families, local convention and visitor’s bureaus, local public health clinics and local community ed options to start)
Host a virtual book club, event, or meet up.
Communicate your fall offerings at an “open house” event that allows for playground connections.
Connecting to Learn has a section dedicated to one time family events.
We hope to help you out in your planning of ways to help families to stay connected!
